“This, then, is how you should pray, ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven...'" Matthew 6:9-10
The Holy Spirit is leading me into greater understanding of what is happening in the spiritual realm. One thing is certain: just as the rose is not without a thorn, so is the Kingdom of Heaven not without the piercing effects of sin.
Paul, in Ephesians 6, sums up the forces of good and evil at work all around us, all the time. "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
Just as the thorn is hidden beneath the beauty of the rose, so are the evils that ravage our lives. If we are not aware and alert, as Jesus exhorted us to be, we will not be praying nor will we know how to pray.
Over the next weeks - possibly months - I will be sharing my understandings with you on this subject, as the Holy Spirit leads and guides me.
